Libraries in 2022 are more important than ever. They are the hub of our community –  a place that is both brimming with activity and a quite refuge. And in Belmont, we are ranked the #10th most successful library in the state with record-breaking participation. In short, we love our library.

  • A place to meet a friend without having to pay to sit down
  • A cool or warm (and free) place to escape during a heat wave or cold snap
  • Free WIFI and computers – crucial for those who do not have WIFI at home
  • A place to combat the isolation of living alone or working from home
  • The only free and local source of early childhood literacy programs
  • A free place to have a meeting or collaborate with a team
  • Hundreds of free things to do for all ages – popular classes, events, concerts and lectures
  • Free online resources – media streaming services, e-books, research databases and newspapers
  • A “library of things” – tools, technology, sewing machines, etc.
  • A free, safe place for youth after school and before their parents come home
  • Oh yes … and books
